On October 9-11 we camped in Traverse City State Park and visited the town and did several day hikes around the area. It was excellent weather and there were some beautiful color changes on the trees in the area. It was quite busy though as many other people seemed to have the same idea!
On Friday we set up camp and had dinner at North Peak.
They had an excellent Ahi Tuna salad.
On Saturday we made some yummy breakfast burritos at the pop-up. Then we hiked Empire Bluff, Sleeping Bear Point Trail, and Pyramid Point. The trails were all quite busy. We tried to get dinner at Hop Lot but the wait was over an hour. So we headed into town and put our names in at Mackinaw Brewing and had some tasty cocktails at Grand Traverse Distillery.
On Sunday we packed up the camper and headed Northeast to visit Elk Lake, Elk Rapids, and Torch Lake. We had a nice walk around Elk and had a drink at Short’s Elk Rapids location. Then after visiting Torch Lake we decided to get an early dinner at Short’s in Bellaire!
