Brew 11 – Diplodocus (Double IPA)

I redid my #6 again without the changes that I made in #9. The only difference was I used a full 1.0 oz of Northern Brewer at 5 minutes instead of 0.5 oz.

  • Steeped Grains
    • 1.0 lb European Bulk Crystal Malt
    • 0.5 lb Cara-Pils
  • Sugars
    • 9.0 lb Extra Pale (Pilsen) Malt Extract
    • 2.0 lb Table Sugar (Sucrose)
  • Hops
    • 75 min: 1.0 oz Warrior (Summit subst.)
    • 20 min: 1.0 oz Northern Brewer (Simcoe subst.)
    • 10 min: 1.0 oz Warrior
    • 5 min: 1.0 oz Northern Brewer
    • 5 min: 1.0 oz Amarillo
    • Dry hopped in 2ndary: 2.0 oz Warrior, 2.0 oz Northern Brewer
  • Misc
    • 10 min: Irish Moss
  • Yeast
    • White Labs Liquid San Diego Super Yeast WLP090

This one foamed up the airlock and started bulging up the top of my primary bucket after 36 hours. I transferred to a glass carbon to complete primary fermentation.

  • OG: 1.082 @ 76
  • FG: 1.020 @ 64
  • ABV: 8.4%
